On the beach, gravel and stony sections alternate, with very white and rounded limestone pebbles, considered one of the peculiarities of the town. The presence of the woods directly in contact with the beach, together with the open views towards the majestic mass of Conero, constitute a great attraction of the  Marche Region . Monte Conero The spectacular landscape

Image
Monte Conero The spectacular landscape @itravelinitaly_com #italy https://posts.gle/xQ9VH According to the most common hypothesis, the name Conero means "mountain of the strawberry trees", deriving from the Greek κόμαρος (kòmaros), that is strawberry tree, a very widespread Mediterranean tree in the Conero woods and which produces characteristic red fruits which are very popular locally. Mount Conero, the only stretch of limestone rocky coast from Trieste to the Gargano, breaks the linear and sandy Adriatic coast into two sections with different orientation, thus deserving the nickname "elbow of Italy", also shared by the city of Ancona . The coastal part is the one with the steepest slopes, while it descends much more gently towards the hinterland. On this side, the mountain has gullies, some of which can be traveled along in the itineraries of the Park. The spectacular landscape of the high coast originated from the millenary erosive action of the wave

THE LEGENDS OF MONTE CONERO

Image
THE LEGENDS OF MONTE CONERO Grotta degli Schiavi: collapsed in the 1930s, the beautiful cave survives in memory and legends linked to pirates.  These seem to have used this cave as a "deposit" for slaves, whose laments could be heard from a great distance;  among them, one day a beautiful Venetian princess arrived, who, sad for her long stay, melted with her own tears, forming a source of pure water that still today flows into the Adriatic Sea. Deep Lake: there are many legends that underline the danger of this small lake in Portonovo.  The most important echoes the existence of a small river, the Budello del Profondo, which crossed the Cònero connecting the lake with Porto Recanati.  It also seems that a secret seven based in Portonovo used to throw the corpses of the nobles into this lake who insisted on practicing the deplorable ritual of the ius primae noctis. Monte Vidon Combatte in late winter

Monte Vidon Combatte at the top of an emerald green hill, between the mountains and the sea, with its red brick buildings, stands the Municipality of Monte Vidon Combatte. Inserted in an intact and harmonious natural complex, it offers splendid panoramic views (Monti Sibillini, Gran Sasso, Conero and glimpses of the Adriatic Sea), a mild climate in winter and cool in summer: it is an excellent refuge for those in search of tranquility and unspoiled natural beauty. The current town, located on the left bank of the Aso river, has an altitude of 393 meters above sea level and is surrounded by medieval walls. It has always been an observatory on the wonderful Aso Valley, one of the most beautiful and fertile in Central Italy, widely cultivated as an orchard and enchanting in the spring. The area is completely flat and is located near Monte Conero . This makes it very suitable for walks along the promenade. The seafaring tradition of Porto Recanati is well documented in the Sea Museum, which is located in the complex of the former fish market. The town offers some important testimonies of its past. Then immediately after, they closed the seafront, with access only to pedestrians and bicycles, from that moment it changed everything slowly, from a simple small fishing village with a splendid view on the Monte Conero promontory, to a beautiful tourist resort. On the road they put the bricks to the ground, the houses have been renovated, even with bright but beautiful colors. Therefore, only foresight can save us from the landscape degradation perpetrated by building speculators.

The Marches region Tour

Image
The Marches region Tour DESCRIPTION The name of the region derives from the plural name of marca, originally referring to the medieval March of Ancona and nearby marches of Camerino and Fermo. Marche is well known for its shoemaking tradition, with fine and luxurious Italian footwear manufacturing facilities in the region. The Marche region of eastern Italy rises between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic Sea. The capital, Ancona, is a port city on the Conero Riviera, an area characterized by sandy coves, limestone cliffs and medieval villages. Pesaro, on the other hand, is the birthplace of the famous composer Rossini. Inland there are ancient fortifications at the top of the hills and glacial valleys of the Monti Sibillini National Park.
