Passetto beach in Ancona Copyright “All rights reserved” © By itravelinitaly.com travelers from Italy Photo by Baldassarri Giuseppe visual storytelling.  I lived in Ancona from 63 to 71, I have only good memories, one of these is the Passetto, every time I return to Ancona I go for a walk on the small pass and enjoy the view. The rocky beach of the Passetto is part of the territory of theParco del Conero; it is located below the cliff and is accessible thanks to a large and long white staircase that descends to the shore of the Adriatic Sea. With the summer season, it is the custom of many people from Ancona to sunbathe on the wide panoramic edges of this staircase, which in the central and final part is divided into two symmetrical ramps. The beach can also be reached thanks to a panoramic lift, or by walking down the narrow streets, a local…

The Marches is an Italian region in central Italy.

Image
The Marches is an Italian region in central Italy. Surprising and wonderful in its diversity, this region of Central Italy, with its winding yet symmetrical form, shows off its multi-faceted beauty through cliffs and caves that overlook unforgettable beaches, hills that are steeped in history, and rich traditions and cultures, all set against a backdrop of mountains (that are, by the way, well-equipped for ski lovers). The Marches are mostly comprised of hills and mountains; the region embraces the Adriatic side of the Umbria-Marche Appennines, yet in contrast features low-lying, sandy beaches. How could anyone forget the long expanse of fine golden sand that kiss crystal-clear waters at Senigallia Offering numerous lidos and pleasant seaside strolls, this area is a treat any time of day, but especially at sunset. No less lovely are Gabicce Mare, Pesaro, Fano, Civitanova Marche, Porto San Giorgio, and San Benedetto del Tronto. If you’re looking to unwind and recharge, visit one of th…

Camminamenti di ronda a Loreto,  60025, Loreto, AN, Province of Ancona, Italy. . The basilica of Loreto is fortified in the upper part with a walkway and stone corbels, which support them also with a decorative function; on behalf of Cardinal Girolamo Basso della Rovere the construction was started by Giuliano da Maiano and subsequently modified and completed by Baccio Pontelli in a typically Renaissance style.

The walkways are covered and protruding corridors with a continuous series of vaulted windows around the upper part of the basilica, to allow easy defense in case of attacks - as had already happened by the Turks in a bloody way in Otranto in 1480; the year before in nearby Grottammare and in 1518 in Porto Recanati; the latter attack which caused an order by Pope Leo X for a further fortification of Loreto, which fortunately was never attacked. The bronze statue blessing from the gestatorial chair, work of 1587-1589 due to Antonio Calcagni with the collaboration of Tiburzio Vergelli, was made at the expense of the Province of the Marca and of eight Picene prelates created cardinals by Sixtus V. Our Lady of Loreto is the patron saint of aviators.

Image
Saint of aviators, Via Papa Sisto V, Near the Torrione Rotondo, 60025, Loreto, Province of Ancona, Marche, Italy. The Lauretan tradition, relating to the transport of the house of Mary, by angels from Nazareth to the ancient Illyria (1291) then from there to the ancient territory of Recanati (1294), appeared very suggestive for the choice of the Madonna of Loreto as Patron who moves through the air. Poets and painters had already recalled this transport in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, imagining the flight of the Nazarene house almost like a modern flight: among the first examples, we can mention the painting Transport of the Holy House of Loreto by Giovan Battista Rositi from Forlì of 1501 and preserved today in the Diocesan Museum of Velletri. The most famous is the fresco, and its sketch, which Giambattista Tiepolo made in 1743 for the vault of the Scalzi Church in Venice and today preserved in the Gallerie dell'Accademia. Thus, since 1912 the Aviators and Aeronau…

Vanvitellian bell tower in Loreto

Image
Campanile Vanvitelliano Loreto 43.44125, 13.61031, Piazza della Madonna, 1, 60025 Loreto, Marche, AN. Campanile Vanvitelliano is the bell tower of the Sanctuary of the Holy House of Loreto, in the Marche region. At 75.60 meters high, it is the tallest bell tower in the region. It rises on the left side of the Basilica, rising 75.60 m high. It was built between 1750 and 1754, on a design by the great Italian architect of Dutch origins Luigi Vanvitelli, author of the famous Royal Palace of Caserta. Built in bricks, with white Istrian stone finishes, it is spread over five levels. The two basics, incorporated in the Apostolic Palace, are square in plan; the third has an octagonal plan, the fourth with a circular plan and the fifth consists of the balustrade with the soaring baroque bulb pinnacle. It houses a carillon of nine bells [2] which intone the notes of the "Litanie lauretane". In the octagonal bell cell there is the main bell, affectionately called Loreta, cast in 151…

Greater fountain in Loreto

Image
Fontana Maggiore, Monuments and historic buildings in Loreto, 60025 Loreto, Province of Ancona, Italy. An elegant example of Baroque art from the first half of the seventeenth century, the Fontana Maggiore of Loreto is located in Piazza della Madonna, overlooking the profile of the Basilica della Santa Casa and that of the Apostolic Palace. The project tells a "family" story, as the structure was designed and created by Carlo Maderno and Giovanni Fontana, who were respectively uncle and nephew; the fountain, in the intentions of the pontiffs and the city authorities, was necessary for the hygiene of the numerous pilgrims, who could quench their thirst there. Machined in marble and bronze, the fountain is composed of several elements: the lower octagonal base, on two levels; the second base, on three levels and lobed; the large square marble basin with lobes; the two tubs and the bronze statues, from which the water, which comes from a long series of underground galleries d…

Castle in Montefiore - Recanati

Castello a Montefiore - Recanati, Via Luigi Flamini, 62019 Montefiore MC, Italy. The castle was built in the late thirteenth century and remodeled in the sixteenth century to withstand even the new forms of artillery. The beautiful crenelated tower is therefore protected by a circular system of walls. Majestic, proud and elegant, the Castello di Montefiore dominates the panorama of those who from the province of Ancona cast their eyes towards the Sibillini.

I spent a whole morning photographing from a roof-garden on the 5th floor, the fabulous kite surfers in Conero Riviera. The sea was rough with strong winds from the northwest, I think Kitesurfing was ideal, they were at least 20 to flutter.
Find yourself amidst beaches, surrounded by bountiful nature and rocky mountains, and a sinuous landscape shaped by the wind and the sea. This is the Conero Riviera, one of the most beautiful maritime environments in the Marches Region. The Riviera boasts several picturesque towns, more precisely Sirolo, Numana, Marcelli, Porto Recanati and Portonovo, all of which provide accommodations with all the amenities, as well as opportuniti…

When I have to make an impression, I admit to having taken advantage of the fact that I live near the bay, and in any season, cold or hot, at night or during the day, from the sea by boat or by motorbike, I have always managed to amaze. Part of the Conero Park. Its territory with small valleys and hills almost completely covered with Mediterranean scrub; it is dominated by the massive presence of Monte Conero which, with its cliffs, delimits the area to the south; to the north, instead, Portonovo overlooks the sea with a white stony beach with a sinuous course and that towards the west curves into the bay that gave its name to the town. Very clear water, few people and uncontaminated nature. Fortunately, it can only be reached by sea. Your rock walls so white, the sea breeze continues, in a short time the heat envelops you, you tan a second. I would recommend a suntan lotion.

Do you want to come on holiday in Italy?

Italy, like the Italians, is a country full of amiable and cultured contradictions, but at the same time disordered and unruly. But perhaps the beauty of Italy and Italians is just that: being always a little unpredictable and difficult to catalog. In Italy we have everything, what do you like best. Do you prefer northern, central or southern Italy for your holidays in Italy?

Northern Italy. The northern regions of Italy are full of spectacular mountain landscapes, while other areas, especially on the east coast, are flat at the entrance to the Adriatic Sea.

Southern Italy it is the heat of the sun and the color of the landscapes, Italy in its most ancient form, full of feeling and sensual. Down here, the ruins are older, the longest lunches and the wildest and most intense landscapes.

Italy: the most beautiful country in the world.
Italy: the most beautiful country in the world. We are in Italy and we know that we have one of the most visited countries in the world under our feet, a unique country, rich in history, culture, natural resources, and a consolidated artisan and gastronomic tradition. Yes an open-air museum, in every corner, in every street, in every small neighborhood hides a piece of history, tradition, and culture. If you can meet the expectations of tourists they will talk about it with relatives, friends, in blogs, share photos and comments on social media, encouraging you to visit the white beaches of Salento, to take a photo in front of the imposing Colosseum, to watch the view from a high altitude refuge in the Dolomites, to be lulled in the lagoon on a gondola in Venice, to taste a plate of freshly baked lasagna in a typical Emilian inn ... But there is more but much more. The Italian Small towns and Borghi villages that tourists should see, large and small, medieval and baroque, perched on high mountains or along coasts. The most beautiful villages along with the boot - worthy of being seen at least once in a lifetime - for the kitchen, the art, the landscape, the history . From Cornello dei Tasso, in the province of Bergamo, a medieval fairytale village where time seems to stand still in Scanno, in Abruzzo, a rural paradise . Up to Marettimo, in the Egadi, a refuge in all senses . Click here for a map.
