Despite the relative distance from the sea, it is also popular in summer and this thanks to the sea breeze that ensures coolness. It is located above "old" Pedaso and can be reached by taking the Panoramic Road. The Astronomical Observatory is located there. The history of Pedaso begins with the Greeks (the Pelasgians), then the Picenes and the Romans, as evidenced by some archaeological findings around the mouth and sides of the Aso river, the Roman ruins in the nearby mountain Villa and archaeological finds that still recover from the sea , testify to the civilizations that have alternated here. The barbarian invasions fo…

Valdaso The Aso Valley.

63827 Valdaso, Province of Fermo, Italy. The Aso Valley, a magnificent area consisting of countless plots of the forest, orchards, vineyards, vegetable gardens, arable land; a high level of livability for the almost total absence of pollutants. The river from which it takes its name, from the Latin Asis, was born in Montemonaco, between Monte Porche and Cima del Prata, winding along the valley for a length of 63 km, then flows into the Adriatic Sea at the height of the municipality of Pedaso.

Montegranaro; A rose in the rain is always a rose

Image
A rose in the rain is always a rose, it is a heart that weeps, lives, and smiles under the weather of life. Composed Wednesday 31 August 2016 by Maria Viola.
Montegranaro A rose in the rain is always a rose Italy itravelinitaly.com By Baldassarri Giulia Photo Wanderlust: The time of the Roman Empire the Genius Loci was linked to the territory, to the city, or even to a grove or spring. In the modern world, the genius loci is that quality, that indefinable but very clear spirit that distinguishes a place. The feeling, upon entering a place, can be felt vividly as a sort of distinctive mark of that place. «A place is never just that place. We are a little bit of that place. Somehow, without knowing it, we carried it inside ... and one day by chance we got there. "

Lungomare dei cantautori del XX secolo Pedaso, 63827 Pedaso, Province of Fermo, Italy. Walking along the "20th century singer-songwriter's promenade", it is possible to walk along the beach for about two kilometers on a path accessible by underpasses dedicated to songwriters of our time: Fabrizio De Andrè, Giorgio Gaber, Luigi Tenco, Pierangelo Bertoli; Domenico Modugno, Sergio Endrigo, Lucio Battisti. The small port, built near the mouth of the Aso river, is a dock for small fishing operators and pleasure boats, it is also a small market where you can buy fresh fish every morning. Near the sea, the public gardens with the scent of flowers, the green of the meadows and the fragrance of the essences are the ideal place to rest your soul and body.

GROTTAMMARE BORGO THE CHURCH OF SANT'AGOSTINO

Image
The church is an excellent example of the sober and essential architecture that characterizes most of the local buildings, even the most relevant ones. The facade is linear, devoid of any decorative element. At the top, above the entrance portal, there are some majolica basins arranged in the shape of a cross, according to Augustinian use, unfortunately very ruined. The facade is concluded by a simple gable roof. The apse of the church, oriented towards the sea, has a fortified aspect, as frequently happens in ancient local churches which also constituted a garrison against enemy incursions: it is embattled and crossed externally by two buttresses. Next to the apse is the severed bell tower which, according to tradition, was reduced in this way because the Augustinian monk Martin Luther was hosted in the convent during his journey to Rome before the great schism. The church has a longitudinal plan, with a single covered nave with a gable roof and wooden trusses. The church has three a…

Above the quiet dock

Above the Dock by T. E. Hulme
Above the quiet dock in the midnight,
Tangled in the tall mast's corded height,
Hangs the moon. What seemed so far away
It is but a child's balloon, forgotten after play.

POETRY ON THE WALLS OF POMPEII

Image
POETRY ON THE WALLS OF POMPEII; If the refinement of a people or, in a broad sense, of its civilization is also measured by her poetic sensibility, Pompeii found paradoxically in the misfortune that on her the privilege of preserving imperishable memory of the spiritual richness of his people and, in particular, of those "street artists" who then as today were destined, often undeservedly, to be forgotten. Taormina: The Ancient theater

Image
Taormina in addition to being a place, a landscape that inspired art, poetry, and fantasy. Taormina is a wonderful picture.
The Sicilian places are, as Pindar would have said, "a pillar of the sky", they are the places that hold heaven, earth, and sea. The whole eastern coast of Sicily seems to have stood still for an eternal spring, its panorama says it, the charm of nature that allows itself to be admired in all its wonder. Eliot wrote: "in Taormina, it is as bright as the snow on the top of Etna".
The Ancient theater of Taormina ("Teatro Antico di Taormina" in Italian) is an ancient Greek theater in Taormina

The Messenger of Nature –

Image
The stop of time. Sometimes it has happened to everyone to feel as if out of time, absent for a moment from the world and from themselves. A condition not only physical but, also and above all, metaphysics. Everything we know, see, hear, believe we know, see and hear no longer exists.

Still Morning It appears now that there is only one age and it knows nothing of age as the flying birds know nothing of the air they are flying through or of the day that bears them up through themselves and I am a child before there are words arms are holding me up in a shadow voices murmur in a shadow as I watch one patch of sunlight moving across the green carpet in a building gone long ago and all the voices silent and each word they said in that time silent now while I go on seeing that patch of sunlight. Still Morning" by W.S. Merwin, from Collected Poems: 1996-2011. © Library of America, 2013. The last day of the world I would like to plant a tree

Italy: the most beautiful country in the world.
Italy: the most beautiful country in the world. We are in Italy and we know that we have one of the most visited countries in the world under our feet, a unique country, rich in history, culture, natural resources, and a consolidated artisan and gastronomic tradition. Yes an open-air museum, in every corner, in every street, in every small neighborhood hides a piece of history, tradition, and culture. If you can meet the expectations of tourists they will talk about it with relatives, friends, in blogs, share photos and comments on social media, encouraging you to visit the white beaches of Salento, to take a photo in front of the imposing Colosseum, to watch the view from a high altitude refuge in the Dolomites, to be lulled in the lagoon on a gondola in Venice, to taste a plate of freshly baked lasagna in a typical Emilian inn ... But there is more but much more. The Italian Small towns and Borghi villages that tourists should see, large and small, medieval and baroque, perched on high mountains or along coasts. The most beautiful villages along with the boot - worthy of being seen at least once in a lifetime - for the kitchen, the art, the landscape, the history . From Cornello dei Tasso, in the province of Bergamo, a medieval fairytale village where time seems to stand still in Scanno, in Abruzzo, a rural paradise . Up to Marettimo, in the Egadi, a refuge in all senses . Click here for a map.
