Veneto is a region of northeast Italy; its capital is Venice

Image
Veneto is a region full of fascination and charm, with countless natural and artistic attractions, as well as a wide range of not-to-be-missed sights and localities.
The first stop on your journey of discovery, naturally, should be Venice, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that also comprises its lagoon, islands and the Grand Canal, flanked by ancient, embellished buildings that recall the splendor of the ancient Maritime Republic.
Venice, famous for its historic Carnival, Murano glass, and Burano lace, can be visited on foot, via small lanes (called calli) (and over numerous bridges) - or by boat - from steamboats to gondolas, carrying passengers along the canals to admire some of the most singularly special panoramas in the world. Piazza San Marco, with its Basilica flaunting Byzantine mosaics and domes; the Doge’s Palace, the labyrinth of lanes dotted by shops and workshops; churches decorated with paintings, sculptures and frescoes; museums and even the most hidden piazzas, are all u…

The Bridge of Sighs Venice Il Ponte dei Sospiri Venezia

The fog had now risen, making the Bridge of Sighs even more mysterious. The Bridge of Sighs, is one of the most photographed magical places in Venice, every time I am in Venice I take more than one photo, from any angle the photo is magical. From the Bridge of Sighs, it emerges that the name, at the time of the Serenissima, would have been attributed to the fact that through the prisoners they sighed because they were aware of the fact that it would be the last time, before being imprisoned, that they would see the outside world. As far as the history of the Bridge of Sighs is concerned, this is a fanciful reconstruction since, in reality, the outside is not visible from the bridge. The sense of beauty and the spirit that enlivens every place inhabited by man as guides for a fuller and more meaningful existence. Places have a soul. Our job is to find out. Exactly as it happens for the human person. ” (James Hillman)”
At the time of the Roman Empire, the soul of places was called the Genius Loci. The Genius Loci was linked to the territory, to the city, or even to a grove or spring. In the modern world, the genius loci is that quality, that indefinable but very clear spirit that distinguishes a place. It is a set of conditions, traditions, cultures, skills that are handed down from father to son and that constitute the identity of a place, even when they spread throughout the world.

"You are in a wonderful country".

We are in Italy and we know that we have one of the most visited countries in the World under our feet, a unique country, rich in history, culture, natural resources, and a consolidated artisan and gastronomic tradition.
Yes an open-air museum, in every corner, in every street, in every small neighborhood hides a piece of history, tradition, and culture.
If you can meet the expectations of tourists they will talk about it with relatives, friends, in blogs, share photos and comments on social media, encouraging you to visit the white beaches of Salento, to take a photo in front of the imposing Colosseum, to watch the view from a high altitude refuge in the Dolomites, to be lulled in the lagoon on a gondola in Venice, to taste a plate of freshly baked lasagna in a typical Emilian inn ...

At the end of the 1930s, the Venice Casino was inaugurated at the Lido. In the fifties, it also opened the headquarters of the Historic Center at Ca 'Vendramin Calergi, a building overlooking the main waterway of Venice, the Grand Canal, where the Casinò di Venezia still resides. In 1999 a new office was opened, Ca 'Noghera, the first American-style casino opened in Italy. San Marco apartments Venice

Image
San Marco apartments Venice, Venezia, Italy, Sestiere di S. Marco 3155, VE, Veneto, Venice Maps.  It seems incredible, but many are looking for apartments in San Marco, in the most beautiful square in the world and also the most expensive. Well, I can assure you that it is not difficult, indeed from personal experience in my last stay I found at a good price an apartment 300 meters from Piazza San Marco in Venice, and it was the final day of the carnival in Venice, so it is possible to book 1 month before. Venice is not very big, so you can easily reach Piazza San Marco on foot from any location. Many tourists stay on average 3 days, so it is easy to find availability during the week. If I could I would live in Venice all year round, not only because of the places frequented by tourists but because I love every corner of that paradise.

Doge's Palace Venice, Piazza San Marco 1, Venezia, Venice, Sestière di San Marco, Veneto, Italy I have always been a great admirer of the director and actor since he was a child of Orson Welles. His unique shots in movies, his stories, I love everything. When the restored copy of his OTHELLO film finally came out, I immediately bought a copy to see it many times over. In my photos, in my small way, I am influenced by his shots, so much so as to dedicate this photo to him, an emblematic image of how Orson Welles in his Othello showed Venice and the Palazzo Ducale.
