Torre di Palme Via Piave63900 Torre di Palme, Province of Fermo, Italy. Torre di Palme stands out for the preservation of its environment and for the stylistic uniformity of the medieval and Renaissance buildings, elements that make it, despite its small size, one of the most interesting historical centers in the region. The village is cut from west to east by via Piave which, in addition to housing the most significant buildings of the ancient town, allows you to admire incomparable urban views in which the narrow streets, characterized by terracotta flowered facades of geraniums, frame wide views of the sea and surrounding hills.Click here for a map.

Of the original, demolished in the early 1900s, only the terracotta decoration of the arch installed above the current archway remains. With a pleasant scenic impact, it leans against the remains of the eastern civic walls and the battlements are added in recent times. A loophole completes the defense of the structure…

Petrtoli and the Three Arches

Image
Largo Giacomo Leopardi, 5, 63848 Petritoli FM, Italy. Ancient Petrania gate built in the first half of the fifteenth century with the aim of reinforcing the slightly more backward fourteenth-century gate. The new door, part of a quadrilateral, was equipped with a drawbridge, had only one entrance and the wall was set between two cylindrical towers All four sides were equipped with battlements both inside and outside. The Three Arches were built in 1872 to "give light and air" to the internal square by breaking down the original wall. Made in neo-Gothic style, the Three Arches have a purely decorative function and the number three is not accidental. From the outside of the Three Arches, you can see all three "Petrania" doors that have followed one another over the centuries. The first, at the top right, above the Mannocchi palace, was built around the mid-twelfth century, the second, to the left of the same palace, in the fourteenth century and the third ... the Thr…

Cà D'oro and postcard Venice

Image
Fondamenta Trapolin, 3932, Sestriere Cannaregio, 30121 Venezia VE, Italy Typical Venetian postcard with a view of the Canale Grande, the gondolas and the Vaporetto stop of the Cà D'oro station. But above all the Palazzo Doro (or Cà D’Oro) in Santa Sofia, not framed in the photo, which gives the none to the area. Ca 'd'Oro is a well-known palace in Venice, located in the Cannaregio district and overlooking the Grand Canal, whose name derives from the fact that originally some parts of the façade were covered with gold, a finish that was part of a complex polychromy, today disappeared, considered one of the greatest examples of Venetian flowery Gothic. Marble lion next to the Basilica of San Marco in Venezia

They are the symbol of Venice, even for undergraduate students, they are a symbol for when they have reached the dream degree, for students, it is a ritual to photograph themselves by touching lions, they bring good luck. Unfortunately, among the sweats, there are also vandals who have thus reduced the poor marble lions. Italy: the most beautiful country in the world.
Italy: the most beautiful country in the world. We are in Italy and we know that we have one of the most visited countries in the world under our feet, a unique country, rich in history, culture, natural resources, and a consolidated artisan and gastronomic tradition. Yes an open-air museum, in every corner, in every street, in every small neighborhood hides a piece of history, tradition, and culture. If you can meet the expectations of tourists they will talk about it with relatives, friends, in blogs, share photos and comments on social media, encouraging you to visit the white beaches of Salento, to take a photo in front of the imposing Colosseum, to watch the view from a high altitude refuge in the Dolomites, to be lulled in the lagoon on a gondola in Venice, to taste a plate of freshly baked lasagna in a typical Emilian inn ... But there is more but much more. The Italian Small towns and Borghi villages that tourists should see, large and small, medieval and baroque, perched on high mountains or along coasts. The most beautiful villages along with the boot - worthy of being seen at least once in a lifetime - for the kitchen, the art, the landscape, the history . From Cornello dei Tasso, in the province of Bergamo, a medieval fairytale village where time seems to stand still in Scanno, in Abruzzo, a rural paradise . Up to Marettimo, in the Egadi, a refuge in all senses . Click here for a map.
