Lapedona gate of the sun.

Image
63823 Lapedona, Province of Fermo, Italy. Lapedona gate of the sun. It stands at the end of a narrow and winding ramp that climbs, outside the walls, from the base of the town hall to the arcades, which open onto the main square of the village. A square tower, probably higher and equipped with protruding defenses, controlled the steep passage making it difficult to conquer, probably helped by other defensive works located opposite the door. Through a small door, you can access the casemate above the vault, where the defenders took their places. Over time, the door has been incorporated into the town hall and it is possible to recognize walled slits on one of the walls.

Altidona from the waters of the Sibillini mountains, up to the Adriatic Sea.

Image
63824 Altidona, Province of Fermo, Italy. The vast territory that opens, in the center of Fermano, along the course of the Aso river, from the sources in the heart of the Sibillini mountains, to the beaches overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The landscape is particularly varied, articulated and never the same. A vast range of reliefs rises from the sea, as far as the eye can see, to reach the mountains in a succession of cultivated hills dotted with woods and small inhabited centers on which towers and bell towers stand out.

Altidona characteristic medieval village.

Image
63824 Altidona, Province of Fermo, Italy. Altidona like many other small castles in the Marche, also Altidona stands on a narrow elongated hill and its urban development follows its reliefs. The result is that beyond the main street, there are only several alleys perpendicular to the main herringbone axis, which go right up to the circle of the walls offering squares and belvedere with views from the valleys to the sea. The history of Altidona starts in the distant lower Paleolithic, in the Roman period there were several patrician villas, then in the Middle Ages, the building took place and was linked to the events of Fermo, of which it became a second-degree castle. Altidona from the historic center lies in the countryside until it reaches the sea, where you can enjoy the beauty of a natural beach. Altidona is flanked by the Aso river that accompanies it to the sea, on this route we find a walk that immerses itself in a green natural environment. The park of the 'two bridges&…

Venezia Santa Croce Cannaregio

Image
San Croce, Sestriere Cannareggio 30100 Venezia VE, Italy. Santa Croce Cannaregio Venice The popular and industrious area of Venice, a beautiful area too, the thing that is most noticeable is that the kiosks and shops are still with wooden frames, with modest and therefore beautiful signs, that a long time it did everywhere in Italy they saw each other. To make this place just as fascinating, the shops are not fanciful, the barbershop is called a barber, the fishmonger is called a fishmonger.
Cannaregio is known for the 16th-century Jewish Ghetto. The Strada Nova is a popular local shopping thoroughfare, and the backstreets are a destination for crafts and vintage goods. Casual canalside restaurants and bars line nearby Fondamenta della Misericordia and Fondamenta dei Ormesini. The stately Ca’ d’Oro palace displays a Renaissance art collection.

The light of the clouds with a colorful winter sea. I like the winter sea. He puts the waves in it, I put my thoughts into it. Lie on the sand of the winter sea, open your hands to the sun and let your identity evaporate. The sea in winter has magic that summer will never understand. I like the winter sea because it is for a few. There are parts of me that exist only when the wind blows from the west and the sea is stormy and the clouds flow fast in a sky full of wonder and strange colors.
Last shots and stories, continue here.

You are in a wonderful country –

"You are in a wonderful country".

We are in Italy and we know that we have one of the most visited countries in the World under our feet, a unique country, rich in history, culture, natural resources, and a consolidated artisan and gastronomic tradition.
Yes an open-air museum, in every corner, in every street, in every small neighborhood hides a piece of history, tradition, and culture.
If you can meet the expectations of tourists they will talk about it with relatives, friends, in blogs, share photos and comments on social media, encouraging you to visit the white beaches of Salento, to take a photo in front of the imposing Colosseum, to watch the view from a high altitude refuge in the Dolomites, to be lulled in the lagoon on a gondola in Venice, to taste a plate of freshly baked lasagna in a typical Emilian inn ...

But…

From the balcony of my house, from Marina di Altidona looking at the Sibillini Mountains.
Almost every day I admire a show like this, full of colors, always different according to the season.

Not to mention the medieval villages in my area, the sea only 600 meters away, the mountains, as seen in the photo, are 70 km away and can be seen very well, even a lake one kilometer away.
So dear French always ready, to any misfortune, even on the Coronavirus, to make fun of Italy and the Italians, I remind you that only envy will speak to you.

You French, you were aware of being a people, only when Julius Caesar decided to conquer the land of the -Galli-, thanks to Cavour you boast of having the Côte d'Azur, the Savoy, and Corsica.

Not to mention Napoleon, born in Italian Corsica, and the Mona Lisa the most precious masterpiece of the Louvre.

ALLEY
Recalls me received your voice,
and not so that skies and waters
they wake up inside me:
a network of the sun that stretches
on your walls that were in the evening
a swing of lamps
from late shops
full of wind and sadness.

Another time: a loom beat in the courtyard
And weeping was heard at night
Of puppies and children.

Alley: a cross of houses
Which are called a piano,
and they don't know what fear is
to be alone in the dark.

Calle del Frutarol - Frezzeria, Stone bridge; brick and stone structure, iron balustrades with arches. BARCAROLI this Bridge was called del Cuoridoro for a heart-wood workshop, remembered however by the name of the next Sottoportico and the next Court. Then it was called the Barcaroli for the station of gondolas. That morning I had little time for photos, but only the passage over a bridge presented you with a splendid landscape. Booking.com

I have always been a great admirer of the director and actor since he was a child of Orson Welles. His unique shots in movies, his stories, I love everything. When the restored copy of his OTHELLO film finally came out, I immediately bought a copy to see it many times over. In my photos, in my small way, I am influenced by his shots, so much so as to dedicate this photo to him, an emblematic image of how Orson Welles in his Othello showed Venice and the Palazzo Ducale.

Impressive, when you arrive by car or train from a distance you can see it, seen from the sea it is even more impressive.
The Campanile, as the Venetians call it "Paron de Casa", is a construction with an identity of its own, 100 meters high, more or less wide, present as a landlord.
