Trentino-Alto Adige Tour By Giuseppe Milo, CC BY-SA 3.0, Link Trentino is the relatively small area but offers a diverse range of climates and types of landscapes: from the Dolomites to the palm trees on the shore of the Lake Garda, from clear cold Alpine air up to a pleasant lakeside climate. Trentino is characterized by steep mountains with a huge network of mountain trails making it a hiking paradise in summer and even larger network of ski slopes making it a skiing paradise in winter. Article By: Baldassarri Giuseppe Visual Storytelling License How to use my images Description The Dolomites are a natural treasure that were listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2009. See the 3 Peaks of Lavaredo, an iconic symbol of the area, and the 2 most beautiful lakes of this unique region. Stop at the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo resort. Enjoy a 8-hour tour that takes you on a 280km route through the breathtaking Dolomites mountain range, one of the world’s most stunning and unique alpine regions. Depart from Bolzano, the Gateway to the Dolomites and capital of South Tyrol. You’ll head north through the Isarco Valley and then east along the Pusteria Valley, up to the famous Braies Lake. Enjoy a 30-minute stop to take in the beauty of the area. Next you’ll stop at Misurina Lake, with its backdrop of 3 Peaks of Lavaredo. The lake, with the 3 Peaks to the north and the Sorapiss to the north, and the Sorapiss to the south, is the best-known image of the Dolomites. Enjoy lunch at a historic restaurant/pizzeria, accompanied by a spectacular lake view. After lunch your drive continues to Cortina d ’Ampezzo, known as the Queen of the Dolomites. Italy’s premier mountain resort is exclusively positioned in the breathtaking mountains and is a symbol of style, fashion and the Italian way of life. From Cortina d’Ampezzo, you’ll begin the 3-hour drive back to Bolzano on the famous Great Dolomites Road.

Trentino and the South Tyrol (Alto Adige) in the north of Italy are high alpine regions of extraordinary beauty, perfect for trekking, skiing and enjoying the outdoors, with beautiful alpine towns and villages to explore, full of history and interest. Long a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, the meeting of cultures in this part of Italy is fascinating.
