Emilia Romagna Tour Photo By Adriana verolla, by 3.0/, Link THE PORTICO OF SAN LUCA TO BOLOGNA , THE LONGEST "CORRIDOR" EVER BUILT IN THE WORLD. Article By: Baldassarri Giuseppe Visual Storytelling License How to use my images The walk to climb to the top of Colle della Guardia, to get to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca is a tradition that begins in the twelfth century, when the first church was built to guard and protect an icon of the Byzantine school that depicts the Madonna with the child and which the religious tradition attributes to San Luca.

Tourist Attraction

Art, history, architecture. All this offers Emilia Romagna. Bologna, a city of fairs and commerce, condenses these aspects in the Basilica of San Petronio, one of the most beautiful churches in Italy which boasts a singular facade: half raw and half covered in marble.
To admire the landscape of the city, you can climb the 498 steps of the Torre degli Asinelli and the panorama that can be admired from above is the reward of so much effort. The Romagna city of Ferrara, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is a place that still preserves the splendor acquired in the Renaissance period. A splendor that is expressed in the streets, in the facades of the buildings and in the artistic treasures preserved in the Estense Castle, a true architectural jewel. In Modena, city of taste and home of tortellino, it is possible to visit the Romanesque cathedral and the Bell Tower of the Ghirlandina. Another place that has eight buildings recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site is Ravenna, the city of mosaics. The masterpieces of this city are an example of the magnificence acquired during its long history that has seen it as the capital three times. Among the monuments not to be missed, the Basilica of S. Apollinare Nuovo, the Mausoleum of Theodoric and the Basilica of S. Apollinare in Classe. Faenza, a city rich in monuments and with a remarkable historical-cultural heritage, instead enjoys international fame thanks to its ancient ceramic industry, an art that dates back to the thirteenth century. Emilia Romagna is also the land of speed, sport and motors. For example, in Maranello and Modena, speed lovers can visit the Ferrari Museums and inside them admire the most prestigious cars of the famous car manufacturer, its trophies and symbols that have made it famous around the world. Imola, on the other hand, with its historic fortresses and squares, is the seat of the well-known Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack, which still hosts various cycling and motor racing events.

Northern Italy. The northern regions of Italy are full of spectacular mountain landscapes, while other areas, especially on the east coast, are flat at the entrance to the Adriatic Sea.

Southern Italy it is the heat of the sun and the color of the landscapes, Italy in its most ancient form, full of feeling and sensual. Down here, the ruins are older, the longest lunches and the wildest and most intense landscapes.
