The great palace of Caserta, near Naples, probably the largest building erected in Europe in the eighteenth century, became an archetypal expression of absolute monarchy. Capri landscape

Image
Capri is vertical - it's all about going up with your gaze and looking down. And always find blue, even if it is not the same blue, never. And always find transparencies, which are not the same transparencies, never. Sky and sea are reflected, the color always steals each other above one another, but their reflections do not resemble each other. Never. Written by Raffaele La Capria

Selinunte Akropoli at sunrise.

Image
At sunrise in Selinunte. Akropolis is dressed in splendor, an awakening of nature here you feel: the sea and the countryside smells.
The sun decorates the temples in Selinunte, the moon pounds, the sea is silver, the stars make the park more welcoming, the world actually comes to ... dream.
As the sun sets in Selinunte the sky between stars and moon seems fairy; everything was here or there is nothing left even the temples hidden by the ... dune.
Chora Selinunte So remaining is a fake project, free Akropoli, and the Park, remove the large fence with bulldozers, equip the port for the expected landing.
If I am intrigued, I am not a drunkard, but it is not right to engage in memory; the surface was a brain
that wanted to tumulate (alas!) the story.  A poem by Ignazio Butera

Palermo the sky never forgotten.

Image
Anyone who has seen the sky of Palermo once will never forget it. by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
It is the Greek city for its origins, for the brightness of its sky and for the mètopi of its museum, of beauty not inferior to those of Olympia. It is a Roman city for the memory of its struggles against Carthage and for the mosaics of the Bonanno villa. It is an Arab city for the small domes of some of its churches, heirs of the mosques. It is a French city for the Altavilla dynasty that embellished it. It is a German city for the tombs of the Hohenstaufen. POETRY ON THE WALLS OF POMPEII; If the refinement of a people or, in a broad sense, of its civilization is also measured by her poetic sensibility, Pompeii found paradoxically in the misfortune that on her the privilege of preserving imperishable memory of the spiritual richness of his people and, in particular, of those "street artists" who then as today were destined, often undeservedly, to be forgotten. Taormina: The Ancient theater

Image
Taormina in addition to being a place, a landscape that inspired art, poetry, and fantasy. Taormina is a wonderful picture.
The Sicilian places are, as Pindar would have said, "a pillar of the sky", they are the places that hold heaven, earth, and sea. The whole eastern coast of Sicily seems to have stood still for an eternal spring, its panorama says it, the charm of nature that allows itself to be admired in all its wonder. Eliot wrote: "in Taormina, it is as bright as the snow on the top of Etna".

Anacapri Blue Grotto "Grotta Azzurra"

Image
CAPRI ISOLA BELLA

Capri ... of nature embellished by the sea.
Your eyes of crystalline waters gracefully surround
the cliffs, and at every corner are born
its nests of winged white houses,
that seem to fly like free seagulls.

Your veil of the princess of the Rock,
it covers its foliage with intense green
That falls like an enchanted waterfall,
trying to grab the sea.

Poem by Di Rodolfo Reyes

the Blue Grotto is the spectacle of Capri, this natural cave is 25 meters wide and 60 meters long, with a tiny entrance less than a meter high. To enter, visitors on wooden rowboats and glide through the low mouth of the cave. Once inside, the boats move in the dark, suspended on the surface of the water so blue that it seems like a dream.

Window on the village –

Image
Windows are the eyes of our houses,
life flows beyond the glass, the color of the sky changes
the sun enters, the air, the noises, we see who passes and who arrives, we meditate waiting for the moon ...

The window
The red rose slowly slips,
for an interminable instant, it is air,
then he rocks on his body,
dyeing it with its bright color.
The hand that left it is now resting on the glass,
streaked by rain and gaze,
under the forehead resting the tears, of love that cannot exist.
A short excerpt of poetry by De Bernardi Pompeo

The mallard. –

Image
In the wild, the mallard has mainly crepuscular habits, preferring to spend the central hours of the day hidden in wet sheltered locations and with thick vegetation.

A flight of wild ducks
Wave after wave
gift receiving

clear transparencies

while
I strip myself of my dark bodies

You
with delicate light, you cover my heart with joyful hands

that sea is formed in us Love longed for

in heavens
crystal

your eyes

from Your kissed

our germane souls increasingly free in real wings fly from Sun to Sun from Victory to Victory,

The Messenger of Nature –

The stop of time. Sometimes it has happened to everyone to feel as if out of time, absent for a moment from the world and from themselves. A condition not only physical but, also and above all, metaphysics. Everything we know, see, hear, believe we know, see and hear no longer exists.

Still Morning It appears now that there is only one age and it knows nothing of age as the flying birds know nothing of the air they are flying through or of the day that bears them up through themselves and I am a child before there are words arms are holding me up in a shadow voices murmur in a shadow as I watch one patch of sunlight moving across the green carpet in a building gone long ago and all the voices silent and each word they said in that time silent now while I go on seeing that patch of sunlight. Civic Tower of Petritoli –

Image
The tower consists of five different bases: square, rectangular, octagonal, circular and spherical.
the five represents the human microcosm, it is man's desire to draw close to God.
The square indicates the man anchored to the earth and encourages him to stop to reflect.
The rectangle expresses the desire to establish a relationship between Earth and Heaven.
The octagon is a symbol of resurrection, it is the mediation between Earth and Heaven.
The dome represents the celestial vault.
The sphere is perfection but placed on the circle which in turn rests on an octagonal base, represents the Incarnation of the divine and human nature of the One who will act as a bridge to bring us closer to the great architect, that is God.

Midday on the still and warm sea:
she accepts me without shouting: a silence and a smile.
Latin spirit, Antiquity, a veil of modesty on the tortured cry!
Latin life that knows its limits,
reassuring past, oh! Mediterranean!
Silent voices still triumph on your banks,
who say yes because they denied you!
Huge and light,
assure and satisfy and murmur the eternity of your minutes,
Oh! Mediterranean! And the miracle of your story,
you enclose it all
in the explosion of your smile.

Last Judgment – Il Giudizio Universale –

Image
The sense of beauty and the spirit that enlivens every place inhabited by man as guides for a fuller and more meaningful existence. Places have a soul. Our job is to find out. Exactly as it happens for the human person. ” (James Hillman)”
At the time of the Roman Empire, the soul of places was called the Genius Loci. The Genius Loci was linked to the territory, to the city, or even to a grove or spring. In the modern world, the genius loci is that quality, that indefinable but very clear spirit that distinguishes a place. It is a set of conditions, traditions, cultures, skills that are handed down from father to son and that constitute the identity of a place, even when they spread throughout the world.

Wandering around Altidona, the small medieval village, perched on a hill, the village seems to have been founded by the Piceni people, at the time of the Punic Wars, as evidenced by Roman remains, especially villae, with sea views, such as that of Barbula, well-known palmense wine producer. In the twelfth century. the scattered settlements are abandoned and the inhabitants create a new castle around the parish church of Santa Maria and San Ciriaco, transferred to the hill of the current town. Its history was then closely linked to that of Fermo.

Even today it is possible to admire the walls that enclose the medieval town.

Venetian Gothic architecture –

Venetian Gothic architecture. Gothic architecture in Venice emerged rather late, only towards the fifteenth century, in fact, the city detaches itself from the eastern influence and suffers from the western cultural climate, so elements of late Gothic are introduced into art in general and in particular in architecture, known in Italy as "flowery" Gothic.
This adjective alludes to the refinement and elegance of that style, which is characterized by spectacular fretwork decorations and a wealth of statues and marbles. Elements of flowery Gothic are also present in the Basilica of San Marco, such as the decoration of the inflected arches of the upper order of the facade and this represents a significant example of how Gothic elements can be grafted very well on a Byzantine substrate. The Basilica of San Marco, whose structure dates back to the el…

My eye rises towards the eternal vault of heaven,
towards you, shining star of the night
and oblivion descends from your eternity
of all desires, of all hopes;
the meaning is lost in this vision,
what I said "mine" vanishes,
I abandon myself to the immense:
I'm in that, I'm everything, I'm just that.
Thought returns and is lost
he gets frightened before infinity, and amazed
does not understand the depth of that vision.
It is the fantasy that brings the eternal closer to meaning,
marrying him to the figure.

The Marche region is also beautiful for its multiple identities Photo and Copyright By Baldassarri Giuseppe Travel is the traveler in Italy itravelinitaly.comThe Marche region is also beautiful for its multiple identities... The Marche is a degradation of gentle hills and valleys that descend from the Apennines to the sea. In the internal areas, ancient villages survive, medieval settlements enclosed within walls, castles, and fortresses overlooking the hills. The typical feature of the Marche landscape is a succession of soft hills that, like so many waves, chase each other up to the coasts, where golden and fine sand beaches stretch into the sea waters, in a continuous and uniform line interrupted only by the Conero promontory, which on the one hand gently descends into the waves and on the other throws itself steep and steep among the waves.

If you can meet the expectations of tourists they will talk about it with relatives, friends, in blogs, share photos and comments on social media, encouraging you to visit the white beaches of Salento, to take a photo in front of the imposing Colosseum, to watch the view from a high altitude refuge in the Dolomites, to be lulled in the lagoon on a gondola in Venice, to taste a plate of freshly baked lasagna in a typical Emilian inn ...

But…

From the balcony of my house –

From the balcony of my house, from Marina di Altidona looking at the Sibillini Mountains.
Almost every day I admire a show like this, full of colors, always different according to the season.

Not to mention the medieval villages in my area, the sea only 600 meters away, the mountains, as seen in the photo, are 70 km away and can be seen very well, even a lake one kilometer away.
So dear French always ready, to any misfortune, even on the Coronavirus, to make fun of Italy and the Italians, I remind you that only envy will speak to you.

You French, you were aware of being a people, only when Julius Caesar decided to conquer the land of the -Galli-, thanks to Cavour you boast of having the Côte d'Azur, the Savoy, and Corsica.

Not to mention Napoleon, born in Italian Corsica, and the Mona Lisa the most precious masterpiece of the Louvre.

So …

ALLEY –

ALLEY
Recalls me received your voice,
and not so that skies and waters
they wake up inside me:
a network of the sun that stretches
on your walls that were in the evening
a swing of lamps
from late shops
full of wind and sadness.

Another time: a loom beat in the courtyard
And weeping was heard at night
Of puppies and children.

Alley: a cross of houses
Which are called a piano,
and they don't know what fear is
to be alone in the dark.

QUASIMODO poem

Ortezzano, Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, Italy. Ortezzano for just over 300 meters above sea level, has a magnificent irregular pentagonal tower with Ghibelline battlements erected between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
From the square of the tower, on the side of which stands the church of the Carmine, (note the signs left on the wall by the ropes of the bells) depart streets and alleys that ri…

Reflecting in the winter twilight I walk...
Color tilt, Yellow yolk, and blue, chalk and gray paint.
Distant horizons on a Sunday morning form an intense blue.

The beautiful seaside village of Pedaso, in the province of Fermo, in the Marche region. Small, but very characteristic, with its lighthouse and the beautiful promenade called 'of the 20th century songwriters'.

Ipse dixit; “Life is what we make of it. Travel is the traveler. What we see isn't what we see but what we are.” ― Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet.
The Gothic-Venetian style of the fifteenth century, with a carved Istrian stone facade and pointed arches, whose intertwined ribs create a delicate ornamental design.  Petritoli is a hilly municipality in the province of Fermo that dominates the green and fertile Aso valley, of which it represents an important economic center for the rich land of olive trees, mulberry trees and hills. It offers a vast and wonderful view that ranges from the Sibillini Mountains to the Adriatic coast.
