I have always been a great admirer of the director and actor since he was a child of Orson Welles. His unique shots in movies, his stories, I love everything. When the restored copy of his OTHELLO film finally came out, I immediately bought a copy to see it many times over. In my photos, in my small way, I am influenced by his shots, so much so as to dedicate this photo to him, an emblematic image of how Orson Welles in his Othello showed Venice and the Palazzo Ducale.

Impressive, when you arrive by car or train from a distance you can see it, seen from the sea it is even more impressive.
The Campanile, as the Venetians call it "Paron de Casa", is a construction with an identity of its own, 100 meters high, more or less wide, present as a landlord.

The Grand Canal Venezia

The Grand Canal Venezia
The main street of Venice, everything started here building piles, the sinuous path of an ancient river in its final stretch, which flowed across the lagoon, among small islands.

This Palace located in Piazza San Marco, next to the Basilica of San Marco, fascinates with its arches and crenellated windows.
That day with the fog rising from the Grand Canal, it became even more beautiful with soft colors.

The arch of the Rialto bridge Venezia

Image
The Rialto Bridge The arch of the Rialto bridge, a single arch, and support, so as to allow easy passage through the Grand Canal. The drawing of the upper part, see the photo, makes the bridge even more characteristic. A unique construction, joins the islands of Venice, from everywhere the photographer's bridge is spectacular at every hour day and night and full of tourists. From the highest point on the two sides, you can see glimpses of Venice seen in all the postcards of Venice.

From the Rialto Bridge by Night. Venezia

Image
I returned from dinner with friends, I promised myself that I would not take any more pictures that day, starting from Piazza San Polo to go to Canareggio, where I was staying, I had to go to Rialto Bridge, well, there, a group of Russian boys gave me asked to take a picture of them with their phone, made then I could not resist and I also took a picture, also because there were few people around on foot, but at the time the canal was full of life.

The Bridge of Sighs Il Ponte dei Sospiri Venezia

Image
The fog had now risen, making the Bridge of Sighs even more mysterious. The Bridge of Sighs, is one of the most photographed magical places in Venice, every time I am in Venice I take more than one photo, from any angle the photo is magical. From the Bridge of Sighs, it emerges that the name, at the time of the Serenissima, would have been attributed to the fact that through the prisoners they sighed because they were aware of the fact that it would be the last time, before being imprisoned, that they would see the outside world. As far as the history of the Bridge of Sighs is concerned, this is a fanciful reconstruction since, in reality, the outside is not visible from the bridge. A story leaked from the photo. Life is what we make of it. Travel is a traveler. What we see isn’t what we see but what we are. Visual Storytelling. Create emotional density and meaning around an initiative, a place.
