I have always been a great admirer of the director and actor since he was a child of Orson Welles. His unique shots in movies, his stories, I love everything. When the restored copy of his OTHELLO film finally came out, I immediately bought a copy to see it many times over. In my photos, in my small way, I am influenced by his shots, so much so as to dedicate this photo to him, an emblematic image of how Orson Welles in his Othello showed Venice and the Palazzo Ducale. Impressive, when you arrive by car or train from a distance you can see it, seen from the sea it is even more impressive. The Campanile, as the Venetians call it "Paron de Casa", is a construction with an identity of its own, 100 meters high, more or less wide, present as a landlord.

I returned from dinner with friends, I promised myself that I would not take any more pictures that day, starting from Piazza San Polo to go to Canareggio, where I was staying, I had to go to Rialto Bridge, well, there, a group of Russian boys gave me asked to take a picture of them with their phone, made then I could not resist and I also took a picture, also because there were few people around on foot, but at the time the canal was full of life. The Bridge of Sighs Il Ponte dei Sospiri Venezia

Image
The Bridge of Sighs Venice Il Ponte dei Sospiri Venezia The fog had now risen, making the Bridge of Sighs even more mysterious. The Bridge of Sighs, is one of the most photographed magical places in Venice, every time I am in Venice I take more than one photo, from any angle the photo is magical. From the Bridge of Sighs, it emerges that the name, at the time of the Serenissima, would have been attributed to the fact that through the prisoners they sighed because they were aware of the fact that it would be the last time, before being imprisoned, that they would see the outside world. As far as the history of the Bridge of Sighs is concerned, this is a fanciful reconstruction since, in reality, the outside is not visible from the bridge.
